Title IX Pratt Syllabus Statement

Here are two versions of the Title IX Syllabus Statement. Faculty can choose which one they would like to include on their syllabi.

Version 1

Human Rights, Equity, and Title IX

Pratt Institute seeks to provide an environment that is free of bias, discrimination, and harassment.  If you have been the victim of harassment, discrimination or sexual misconduct, we encourage you to report this.  If you inform me of an issue of harassment, discrimination, or sexual misconduct I will keep the information as private as I can, but I am required to bring it to the attention of the institution’s Title IX Coordinator.  You can also speak to someone confidentially by contacting our non-mandatory reporters: Health Services at 718-399-4542, Counseling Services 718-687-5356 or Campus Ministries 718-596-4840.

If you would like to talk to the Title IX Coordinator (Dr. Esmilda Abreu) directly, she can be reached at:

200 Willoughby Avenue | Willoughby Hall 1, Room 104 | Brooklyn, NY 11205

phone: 718.636.3639 | fax: 718.399.4239| eabreu26@pratt.edu

Version 2

Human Rights, Equity, and Title IX

As a professor, one of my responsibilities is to help create a safe learning environment on our campus.  I also have a mandatory reporting responsibility related to my role as a professor. It is my goal that you feel able to share information related to your life experiences in classroom discussions, in your written work, and in our one-on-one meetings. I will seek to keep information you share private to the greatest extent possible. However, I am required to share with the Title IX Coordinator information regarding sexual misconduct or information about an incident that may have occurred.

You can also speak to someone confidentially by contacting our non-mandatory reporters: Health Services at 718-399-4542, Counseling Services 718-687-5356 or Campus Ministries 718-596-4840.
