TRIALS: Experimenting with cubes and and spheres, rotation and scaling.
FINAL GEOMETRY:
We imported it into Rhino to shave off the ‘bottom,’ so it would stand for printing.
The machine we were using (Vincent Vega) has a finicky spool holder so it failed to feed filament to the printer, resulting in a failed print:
The final product took about 50 minutes and is roughly 1.75″ tall.
The top views of the cubed spirals are very interesting to me. How the bigger cube vs the smaller cube really have an impact on the visual density of that specific view.
I like how you guys were able to achieve a cantilever using the 3D printer and maintained a neat print.
