After generating the 3D model in Beetleblocks I had to bing the object in to Rhino so that I could edit the mesh and make the model flat at the bottom. The reason for this was because the nest was not evenly flat, causing complications at when starting the print. This also made it easier to rotate the object in space.
The print took around 5.5 hrs in a Makerbot.
The Settings where:
speed: 100mm/s
Quality: medium
The final outcome had some small errors when the nest cantilevers, but over all it is a good outcome.
Other Tests:
I like how you created a basket weave with the extrusions. i wonder if you could make a sphere using this weave pattern like Jean did with her 3d print.
