Hexagonal Wine Rack
the modulated form will be created from 12 bent 6″ x 6″ squares
connection between each squares can be made with soldering or 3D printed connecter pieces
potential central connector piece
The Making Process
BeetleBlocks svg file for bending
The square modules
– machine tends to overdo the 90 degree angles on the shorter edges (especially the first bend)
– tagging the open vertex by soldering
Connection of the square modules
– tagging the end of the edges of three squares to form a rectangular shape
Soldering Process
– originally, a 2″ straw is placed at the central connection to hold the wires in place
but the plastic is melted by the heat at roughly 2″-3″ distance
– the central connection is a solder work of laminating 6 pieces of wire together at once
– solders are made in an interval of .5″
– some soldered material are melted onto the framing wire,
then spread on the surface while still hot with a cold piece of wire
