EX 0.3 – Wire Bending

Wire Clips

Wire clips are intended to be used in the assembly of our prototype rubber band powered fan. The dimensions for the clips were determined in AutoDesk Fusion 360, drafted in Rhino, and exported to Adobe Illustrator in order to generate .svg files. Unfortunately, the wire bender’s calibration issues prevented the file from being executed, so these clips were created in DIWire’s manual mode

Wire Facets

In an attempt to aggregate triangles we TIG welded a series of wires together. The welding was difficult and the material wouldn’t operate. The mistake made was never weld anything galvanized because it’s like “welding ice-cream” in addition to having terrible fumes. The alternative to this would be to solder.
