ASCE Sustainability Leadership Workshop: National Science Foundation-Funded Sustainability Research Networks (SRNs)

This free-of-charge workshop aims at identifying how the SRNs and ASCE can support each other’s efforts around sustainability. ASCE’s sustainability goals align with the SRNs’ collective knowledge, and there are potential synergies between ASCE and the SRNs. Possibilities for collaboration will be the focus of the day long workshop which will be hosted by ASCE’s Committee on Sustainability. New York City is one of the “test bed” cities for one of the SRNs, entitled Sustainable Healthy Cities, with Columbia University, the University of Minnesota and Georgia Tech, as the principal investigator universities. Sustainable Health Cities focuses on three themes:
9:30 – 10:00 am ASCE Sustainability Road map, 4 Key Priorities
10:00 – 12:00 pm Sustainability Leadership in Practice
12:00 – 1:30 pm Breakout sessions and lunch
1:30 – 2:15 pm Re-convene as a group
2:15 – 3:45 pm NSF Sustainable Research Networks
3:45 – 4:00 pm Break
4:00 – 4:30 pm Roundtable discussions
4:30 – 5:00 pm Roundtable reports
