Welcome to a new academic year!

We especially want to welcome our incoming sophomores and 1st-year graduate students, we are delighted that you are joining us and look forward to getting to know you better.

As our department continues to ensure that the Fine Arts education we offer is second to none, we are also evolving to consider the role that we play in the larger social and cultural conversation. We are committed to supporting our students beyond graduation through our alumni network and are actively building bridges that connect us to the local and global communities beyond our gates.

To this end, we launched a number of new initiatives this summer: Studio Residencies,PROJECT THIRD, and PIE (Pratt Institute Editions). Please see below for more on these projects and how they enable us to be part of the broader creative conversation.

We encourage you to visit our department site and hope that you will join us at the numerous lectures events and openings we will be offering this fall.

Here’s to a great semester!

Jane South | Chair, Fine Arts
