Dear Fine Arts BFA and MFA graduates of 2017,
I extend my warm congratulations to you for a job well done! The individual Thesis shows and group exhibitions have been a lively and impressive display of talent and hard work—a testament to your accomplishment as makers and thinkers. It has been a privilege to work with you, directly and indirectly, and to watch your work grow under the guidance of our dedicated faculty.
Please stay in touch with the department on Facebook and subscribe to our weekly Newsletter. Keep in with your professors who always enjoy hearing from you, no matter how long it’s been. If you stay in the area, be sure to return for Open Studios next year in the Pfizer Building and come to the VALS lectures which are free and open to the public. Remember, too, that Pratt’s Office of Career and Professional Development is always at your service to help you find artist residencies, funding opportunities and arts-related employment. Just contact Deborah Yanagisawa, (firstname.lastname@example.org) to set up an appointment.
In closing, I leave you with founder Charles Pratt’s credo: Be true to your work and your work will be true to you. If you let yourself follow where your work leads, you’ll be guaranteed an amazing life journey.
With best wishes,
Chair of Fine Art
