“New York City is moving forward with plans to start three new ferry routes to Astoria and the Rockaways in Queens and South Brooklyn by summer 2017, Mayor Bill de Blasio said on Wednesday as he announced the operator of the expanded service.

The city chose Hornblower, a company that runs cruises to the Statue of Liberty, to operate the ferries, Mr. de Blasio said at a news conference on Pier 15 in Lower Manhattan.”
